Welcome to the Our Lady of the Angels, Regular Announcement page. (Read the bold letters -updated 4/1/2025!)
The Masses for this Sunday, March 30, Passion Sunday, will be 7:30 am and 10:00 am.
Confessions for Saturday, April 5, will be available from 4pm-6pm. Remember to use the regular Saturday confession times if you live within 30 minutes of the church. This allows the long distance drivers and their families to enjoy confessions on Sundays before Mass. Follow a schedule. Every two weeks is sufficient. Make a good amendment of life.
There will only be one Mass, Wednesday, April 2, at 7:00 pm. The 7:15 am and 8:00 am Masses are cancelled for that day.
40 Days for Life from March 2 to April 13. You’re invited to join other Christians for 40 Days for Life: 40 days of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion. You’re also invited to stand and peacefully pray during a 40-day vigil in the public right-of-way outside the Pasadena Planned Parenthood facility, 1045 N Lake Avenue. If you would like more information and especially if you would like to volunteer to help, please visit www.40daysforlife.com/pasadena. Our Lady of the Angels will be present on Tuesdays from 4pm to 5pm. The next rosary will be April 1.
Good Friday is a fast and abstinence day. On that day all Catholics, ages 14 (traditionally 7 yrs.) and up, must abstain from meat. All who are 18-59 must also fast. Fasting is considered only one full meal and two smaller meals in a day. The two smaller meals should together not be equal to a full meal. Eating between meals is not permitted, but one may have beverages anytime. Catholics, ages 14 (traditionally 7 yrs.) and up, are also obliged to abstain from meat every Friday of Lent, and are encouraged strongly to abstain from meat every Friday of the year. Traditionally, Catholics ages 21-59 yrs. did a 40-day fast (every day of Lent we fast, except Sundays).
Lenten Devotions: The faithful are encouraged to attend the rosary at 6:00 pm, a conference at 6:30 pm, and Mass at 7:00 pm each Wednesday of Lent.
On the Fridays of Lent the Stations of the Cross will be prayed at 7:00 pm with confessions being available.
Women’s Parish Workday, Saturday, April 12, following the 8:00 am Mass. It will include cleaning and trimming of palms.
Children’s Eucharistic Crusade Meeting, Saturday, April 12, from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. All children of the parish, ages 6-16 are welcome to attend. Children meet in the vestibule on time for the 8:00 am Mass.
This Lent, we have an opportunity as a parish to engage in an important “Corporal Act of Mercy” by helping pregnant women in need. In addition to our continued rosary campaign at Planned Parenthood during the “40 Days for Life” event, we are expanding our support for ending abortion. We will be coordinating a Diaper Drive to help local pregnancy counseling centers who are assisting women who have made the choice for life by keeping their babies despite the tremendous pressure of pro-abortion advocates. The need for diapers is critical for poor women because while they do receive assistance to buy food, they cannot purchase diapers with food stamps and the cost per month for diapers can be up to $135 a month for each baby. To support these life affirming pregnancy centers and the important work they do, we are asking for donations of: Diapers especially sizes 4, 5 and 6; Baby hygiene products (wipes, bath products, lotion, etc.); New or gently used baby clothes especially for babies 18 to 24 months; New or gently used toddler clothes especially sizes 2T and 3T…..and any of the above in whatever size you may have to donate!
Please help support this effort by bringing donations to the church during Sunday Mass times or before 9:00 am during the week and they will be distributed weekly to our local pregnancy centers. Collections will begin this week and continue until Easter Sunday. For more information, please contact Sr. Michaelanne Marie at sr.michaelanne-marie@fsspx.email
Blessing of Religious Articles after both Masses on the first Sunday of each month.
